The Dupe Atelier — Est. on r/fragranceclones
The honest, luxurious guide to fragrance dupes — the bottles that echo the greats, note by note, at a tenth of the price. Every pairing below carries its full scent pyramid, its real street price, and the one thing the original still does better.
A dupe is not a fake. It is a perfume with its own name on its own bottle, echoing a scent the world already loves — sold for what perfume actually costs to make.

I — The Finder
Answer honestly. The Finder is allowed to tell you to buy the original — and sometimes it will.
What should the room feel?
When will you wear it most?
Your honest budget?
II — The Catalog
Every popular original, with multiple clones wherever the clone world has made them. Tap any card open for the full note pyramid, how it wears, when it shines, and the honest difference. Prices are typical US street prices, October 2026 — check two retailers, they move.

kept in your pocket. That is roughly — a wear for the dupe shelf — less than the coffee you drink while wearing it.
Nothing on that shelf. Try a wider search — or a different mood.
III — The Originals Index
Start from the bottle you love. Each original below carries every clone we list for it — most carry two to six, at different prices, strengths and temperaments. The full cards, with notes, live in the catalog above.
IV — The Craft
Three short crafts that turn a bottle into a signature.
Two $30 bottles can out-dress one $300 bottle. Tap a pairing open. Unscented lotion first, always — moisturised skin holds scent hours longer.
The opening. Citrus, fruit, spice — the loudest, brightest fifteen minutes. Never judge a dupe here; the opening is where the budget shows most, and it is gone before your coffee is.
The heart. Flowers, coffee, tobacco, dates. Spray pulse points — neck, chest, one wrist — then leave it alone. Rubbing wrists together crushes the top notes you paid for.
The compliment zone. This is the scent other people actually meet: the dry-down aura at conversation distance. Great dupes and originals are closest right here.
The base. Vanilla, amber, musk, woods on skin — and on fabric, often tomorrow. Dark oud juices can stain light cloth; spray skin, not the white shirt.
Maceration. Many Middle Eastern bottles arrive harsh and turn smooth after two to four weeks resting cool and dark, sprayed a few times first. A disappointing first spray is a draft, not a verdict.
Tap a note. Once you can name these twelve, every pyramid in the catalog reads itself.
V — Questions
Smoother openings. Rarer naturals. A dry-down that keeps changing at hour six. If a scent is your true signature — the one in your wedding photos — buy the original and wear it without arithmetic.
A designer logo at a dupe price. Blurry printing, loose cellophane, a batch code that matches nothing. Real dupes are bought under their own names, from real fragrance retailers — the brand on the bottle is the whole point.
Sample or decant the polarising ones (oud, tobacco, cherry). Patch-test bold ambers. Rest new bottles two to four weeks before judging. Two to three sprays is a full wearing for most of this catalog.
Luxury is the smell,
not the receipt.
